The duo of Olivier Berger and Stan Kolev team up under their Casa Flava guise to deliver a two disc release on the Plastic Fantastic imprint. Further South
is the release and it is armed with a host of production treats.
The Trip Mix is first up and it is quite an impressive production. It flows with some pretty strong beats and percussion, but the main attraction is a
tripped out high pitch effect that intensifies through the production. A nice subtle baseline comes into the track to help drive it along and it does just
that as does the creepy breakdown that features some twisted sounds and effects.
Pig & Dan add their touch to the release with a baseline driven remix, full of bouncy low end sounds early in the piece. The production soon builds as only Pig & Dan can do with some smooth effects that add a great uplifting aura to the track, and it complimented by some great percussive break beats. A great
production yet again by this great duo.
Magma kicks things off in disc two with a driving progressive record that builds with some smooth pads and a strong kick. A massive breakdown adds appeal to
this production as the pads and effects add a great melodic and epic touch to this pretty solid track.
Turn it over and you have the Deep Mix of Further South and for me this is a disappointing toned down mix of the Trip mix. Still solid but not as enticing as
the effort on disc one.
A pretty good release here on Plastic Fantastic with the Pig & Dan mix standing out in particular.
